Paraphasia is also a type of speech impediment or shortening of sounds. It is the medical term for an incomplete sound and sometimes referred to when there is an incomplete thought. In certain ways it describes my style of vocalization with the group Susto as Leslie of Susto.
I decided to make this experimental film with the idea of starting a thought but not completing that thought. In doing so I hypothesized that the random thoughts could be strung together to create a whole with a type of cohesiveness created in each individual persons mind.
This version of Paraphasia has been edited so I do not feel it works very well but the film is still enjoyable.

When I was five I tied my shoelaces to the legs of my chair, raised my hand and asked my teacher if I could go to the bathroom. I then proceeded to drag the chair across the room pretending that I didn't notice it dragging behind me, the kids in the class loved it. My teacher asked we why the shoelaces were tied to the chair. I told her that they must have done it on their own, because I didn't know anything about it. She brought me out in to the hallway, made me stand with my nose to the wall arms out, palms up and she slapped my palms telling me to admit that I tied my shoelaces to the chair. I never admitted it. She told me to stay with my nose to the wall until the end of class. When she left, I went to the playground, and I have been there ever since.
